Welcome to Superintendent Walter Dansby!
When I ran for this office, I was not sure I would be able to make a difference. Yet, as it turned out, I was one of the five people who voted to make Mr. Dansby our interim superintendent. He is already making his mark to improve our student performance and fiscal soundness.
During the next three years I hope to make other contributions. Some will be small, like my work on the audit committee. Others may have promise to make a big change. One of these is the Reasoning Mind program which we are now piloting in six schools. Mr. Dansby is considering recommending expansion of this program in the coming years.
I will also be working on budget moves to improve the amount of money available for classroom programs. One target is the size of the downtown staff.
